Found in rivers and creeks in lentic habitats over detritus and decomposing vegetal material with low transparency, neutral pH, high dissolved oxygen, high conductivity and total solids, and low turbidity and hardness. These water parameters indicate a highly disturbed environment that affects the survival of this species and those that share its habitat (Ref. 104976).
