Specialized organs
Different appearance always different morphology between mature adults
Different colors always different colors between mature adults
Remarks Sexually mature males with hooks on branched rays on anal, pelvic, pectoral, dorsal and caudal fins. Males possess more prominent, darker lateral stripes, deeper and wider caudal peduncles, and thicker caudal-fin rays than females; darker colors, related to higher concentration of melanophores along posterior margins of scales that are strongly concentrated along the lateral stripe and also along the infraorbitals, opercle and lateral surface of the cranium (vs. lighter pigmentation pattern, with only the humeral and peduncular regions pigmented in females).
