A dwarf species which differs from all other species of the genus by the conspicuous color pattern of the caudal fin of the male (lower half black with 1-3 hyaline spots and a broad hyaline lower margin; upper half with a broad longitudinal orange stripe, a broad submarginal black stripe and a hyaline upper margin) and by the large extent of black pigments on the dorsal and caudal fins (Ref. 26721).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
有別於所有的其他種的本屬雄魚的尾鰭的藉由顯著彩色斑紋的一個矮小的種 (下半部黑色的有 1-3個透明的斑點與一個寬的透明下緣; 上半部具有一個寬的縱向橘色的斑紋，一條寬的靠近邊緣的黑色斑紋與一個透明的上緣) 與黑色素對背鰭與尾鰭的藉由大範圍.(參考文獻 26721)
