Lives in the shallow precipituous rocky habitat, which is characterized by rocks piled on top of each other forming a complicated network of caves and crevices (Ref. 46829). Herbivore; feeds on algae which are scraped from rocks Ref. 6770, 46829). Maternal mouthbrooder; males strongly territorial (Ref. 46829).
