Ecology
Marine; bathypelagic; oceanodromous (Ref. 51243); depth range ? - 2500 m (Ref. 58018). Deep-water; 32°S - 67°S
Circumglobal between the Subtropical Convergence and the Antarctic Polar Front, but extends to 35°S (Australian Bight) and 32°S (off Argentina and Chile). Southern Ocean: at 53°18'S, 49°57'W and 45°25'S, 36°32'E.

High-oceanic and mesopelagic (Ref. 4066, 75154); found between 150-450 m at night (Ref. 4066). Matures at about 3.2 to 4.4 cm SL.
