This species was collected with otter trawls at depths between 110 and 180 m, over sandy substratum. However, it was not present in hauls made along the same transects at lesser depths. Typical demersal fishes collected in the same hauls include Paralichthyidae, Triglidae, Anthiinae, Ophichthidae, Aulopidae, Ococephalidae and Malacanthidae (Ref. 86275).
