Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 56 - 61; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 51 - 55; Vertebrae: 64 - 67. Caudal fin rays 8-9. Premaxillary teeth absent or 1-15 present anteriorly on each premaxillary. Complete set of uniserial row of simple triangular, anteriorly slanting canines on each side of lower jaw. Pectoral fins notched.
