Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 5; Vertebrae: 37 - 38. Body elongated, cylindrical, snout bluntly pointed, peduncle of caudal compressed; snout subequal to postorbital part of head; barbels 6. Scales minute, invisible, only present on peduncle of caudal. Air bladder entirely enclosed in bony capsule. Without a free portion in abdominal cavity.
