Africa: described from the Ignidi River at Lagbe, Benin (Ref. 2801), but also known from the Niger delta in Nigeria (Ref. 2940, 81282).

Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray smooth on hind margin; scale formula -/20-23/-; 8(9) scales around caudal peduncle; scales in mid-lateral series with small black spots; 7 branched dorsal fin rays; no barbels; lateral line absent; maximum reported size 19 mm SL (Ref. 2940, 81282).
