Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 10; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 17 - 21. Diagnosis: single nostril on each side of snout; mouth opening at level of upper border of eye; short gill rakers on 1st branchial arch; D:III,7; A:III,14-18; P:11-12; V:8 (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Associated with vegetation fringing flowing water. Feeds mainly on terrestrial insects (Ref. 6160) and seeds at the surface (Ref. 28714).
