Diagnosis: body depth 4-4.4x and head length 3.2-3.5x SL; 32-36 ctenoid scales in longitudinal series; 9-10 anal fin branched rays; 11-12 dorsal fin branched rays; 1 to 4 iridescent green (in live fish) or black (in preserved material) spots on sides (Ref. 2936, 86396).
