Etymology: Poecilia: Greek, poikilos = with a lot of colours (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Jacob Rudolph Hendrick Neervoort van de Poll (1862–1925) was a Dutch entomologist and pioneer photographer who collected in the Netherlands Antilles. His specialty was the study of Coleoptera and he described several new beetle species. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
