Flank marbled without midlateral rows of dark blotches. Dark blotches on dorsum often fused. Branches of suborbital spine similar in length.

Found on gravel substrate along steep banks of rivulets and streams 3-10 m wide and less than 1 m deep in foothills and plains, sometimes in channels (Ref. 59043).
