Occurs in a wide range of substrates, where photographs show this species mostly on live coral
surfaces of all morphologies, but also common on sponges, gorgonians, and dead hard bottoms; with TP males occupying holes in live corals, dead corals, and sponges (Ref. 125603). Inhabits globose coral heads of Montastrea sp. and sea fans (Ref. 51514).
