背棘 (總數) : 40 - 45; 背的軟條 (總數) : 2 - 4; 臀棘: 2; 臀鰭軟條: 28 - 31. Juveniles whitish with dark longitudinal stripes which become faint in adults; adults with light-edged dark ocellus on shoulder (Ref. 5496).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
