Found on sand and rubble bottoms (Ref. 9710). Lives symbiotically with alpheid shrimps (e.g.Alpheus djiboutensis) and photographed with Ptereleotris arabica (https://www.oceandocs.org/handle/1834/10331?locale-attribute=ru, sent by A. Volkers).
