Etymology: Lophiomus: Greek, lophos = crest + Greek, mys = muscle; immaculioralis: Name from Latin 'immaculioralis' derived from ‘immaculi-’ meaning ‘unstained’ and ‘oralis’ for 'oral', referring to the floor of the mouth being light, without conspicuous dark pigmentation.

Colouration: body brown and the absence of conspicuous dark marking on the light floor of the mouth (Ref. 131498).
