Africa: eastern tributaries of Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 2801). Also present in Lake Rukwa and associated rivers, and the Chambeshi (upper Congo basin) (Ref. 27292). Reports from the lower Lukuga system and Lualaba (upper Congo River basin)(Ref. 12818) need confirmation.
