Etymology: Acrochordonichthys: Greek, akros = summit, topmost + Greek, chorda = nervous line + Greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335); guttatus: Named for the pattern of small brown spots on the dorsal surface of head and body, guttatus (speckled).
