Morphology | Morphometrics
soft rays: 34 - 41. Belly with 17 (rarely 28) + 9 = 26 or 27 (rarely 28) keeled scutes from isthmus to anus. Maxilla long, reaching beyond base of first pectoral fin ray; first supra-maxilla small, oval. A dark blotch behind upper part of gill opening.
Presumably schooling, perhaps mainly in inshore waters. More data needed based on correct identifications. This species is probably hidden in various synonymies, chiefly those of T. hamiltoni which it resembles superficially.
