Max length : 10.2 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 31667)
A species belonging to the C. fimbriatus species group which is distinguished mainly from its congeners by its very fine reticulate pattern on the dorsal surface, even in large individuals; with mainly 13 neuromasts in the pectoral series (vs. 12 or less in its congeners) and slightly more numerous neuromasts on the body proper, 33-38 (vs. 29-37) (Ref. 94130).
Benthic (Ref. 58302). A poorly known species which is apparently represented only by a few specimens collected from the Hawaiian Islands and the Emperor Seamount (Ref. 94130).
