Pale brown on back of the body; white on belly; tinged with red brown and irregular zones on sides of body; red on belly of the head and a dark round spot in base of caudal fin. (Ref. 45563). A row of pelvic scutes from the base of pelvic fin to the anus; snout pointed sharply. Lateral line curves downward on trunk and upward back the central axis after expanding the caudal peduncle; dorsal fin short, without hard spine and its origin opposite behind the origin of the pelvic fin; anal fin well developed (Ref. 45563).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Adults inhabit small streams of rivers at an altitude of 30 m and above (Ref. 26642).
