Africa: Lower Guinea endemic, known from Cameroon (Mungo, Sanaga, Nyong and Ntem River basins), Equatorial Guinea (Mbini River basin) and Gabon (Ogowe River basin) (Ref. 81639).

Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14; Anal soft rays: 8. Diagnosis: strongly curved, crescent-shaped mouth; minute, sometimes almost imperceptible, barbel at either side of mouth; last unbranched dorsal fin ray heavily ossified and inflexible; pelvic fin inserts below middle of dorsal fin; 31 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).
Maximum TL recorded: 18.0 cm (Ref. 2801).
