Gymnelus diporus belongs to the group of species with widely interrupted supratemporal commissure. It is further characterized as not having a posteriorly shifted beginning of the dorsal fin, a narrow and long pectoral fin, short snout, color with multiple (up to 18) bands, and a small size (Ref. 36338). |
