Comments: Accidentally introduced with mugilids and stocked into Lake Kinneret but are incapable of reproducing in Lake Kinneret. It was also intensively stocked in reservoirs as control for pest fish. Since the late 1990s, it has been raised in freshwater farms in the coastal plain and the Beit Shean Valley (Ref. 37616). Introduced in 1989 from Cyprus for aquaculture (Ref. 13686).     Ref:  FAO, 1997
