| Comments | Reintroduced in 1973 and 1975. Widespread for culture. Breeding of carps has been regularly performed by hypophysation since 1977. All the seed produced has been utilized for pond culture purposes and it is only since 1984 that the surplus seed produced has been stocked in some reservoirs. It is too early to assess the full impact of such a stocking program, but it is felt that the quantity of seed stocked so far was insufficient and efforts will have to be made to regularly stock all these water bodies with more fingerlings.
