Goals and Objectives: IATTC coordinates international research on tuna in the eastern Pacific Ocean, and makes regulatory proposals to conserve the species in a manner which will allow a maximum sustainable catch. In 1992, the IATTC was given the additional role of reporting on international compliance with the Dolphin Conservation Act. The IATTC also has significant responsibilities for the implementation of the International Dolphin Conservation Program (IDCP), and provides the Secretariat for that program.
