Found in lagoon reefs and outer reef flat and slopes, 4-30 m. A bottom and midwater feeder. A specimen was found to have 5250 eggs (Ref. 11890). Museum: Madang, CAS 65320. New Britain, USNM 276582. Bougainville, USNM 276592 (Ref. 8525). Also Ref. 1602, 90102 and 6192.
