Ranges from Nunavut (Ref. 58426) to Nova Scotia (Ref. 5951), and Arctic Canada at depths of 1271 to 1472 meters. It is abundant a;pmg the sloping banks fronting Nova Scotia and was reported from longline catches below 600 meters in 1875. Fishery was discontinued and reporting of this species decreased. Current abundance is unknown (Ref. 117245). Also Ref. 120663.
