Type locality, Japan, Honshu, Chiba Prefecture, southeast coast of Boso Peninsula, Ubara, NSMT-P 72545 (holotype of Eviota masudai, 2.47 cm SL, male) (Ref. 76829). Recorded from the coasts of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, from the Boso Peninsula southward to the Osumu Peninsula, the Island Sea of Selo, the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands, also from the Oki Islands (Ref. 76829).
