Type locality, O’ahu, Kâne’ohe Bay, patch reef north of Sampan channel, 1.2-3.1 m, CAS 218127 (holotype of Pleurosicya larsonae, 1.14 cm SL, female). This species is most certainly more widespread in the Hawaiian Islands, but appears to be extremely cryptic (Ref. 58271). Also Ref. 58302, 122680.
