Recorded from the Lianzi Lake, middle reach of Yangtze River (Ref. 38003) and the Tungting Lake where it is known as "t'u-han-pa" (Ref. 35840).(Ref. 35840). Introduced from its native range to other regions in the country (intensive culture in ponds)(Ref. 55380).
