Recorded from Lake Bourget (Ref. 59043). Known from the Gironde estuary (Ref. 51442) and the Rhône basin. Initially colonized the Rhine at the end of the XIXth century, then the basin of the Rhône at the beginning of the XXth century. Very much fished by fishermen, it was widespread in all fluvial basins. It is the subject of extensive pond breeding, partly for restocking purposes (Ref. 30578). Also Ref. 1739 and 49187.
