Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal soft rays: 10 - 11. Head smooth above (Ref. 2988). Maxillary barbel reaching middle of adipose fin in the young and the end of the rayed dorsal in the adult; nasal barbel reaching anterior border of eye (Ref. 52301, Ref. 2988). External mandibular barbels reaching the branchial fissure; occipital processus reaching the interneural bone (Ref. 52301). Longest dorsal fin ray a little longer than head; distance between adipose and dorsal fin equals base of the latter; adipose fin twice as long as the distance between dorsal and adipose fin (Ref. 2988). Caudal fin forked, upper lobe slightly the longer (Ref. 52301, Ref. 2988). Pectoral spine very strong, prominent and strongly serrated (Ref. 36900) on inner side (Ref. 2988). Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5005   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01000 (0.00244 - 0.04107), b=3.04 (2.81 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.9   ±0.9 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Assuming Fec>10,000).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Moderate to high vulnerability (49 of 100).
