Description synthétique Morphologie | Morphométrie

Épines dorsales (Total): 12; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 13; Épines anales 2; Rayons mous anaux: 13 - 14. Body short, almost round. Color is brown with a black spot on the pectoral fin base. The caudal fin, caudal peduncle and the adjacent portion of the dorsal and anal fins white.

Adults inhabit inshore and offshore coral reefs. They are found in aggregations above corals (Ref. 9710). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
