Espinas dorsales (total): 6 - 7; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 13; Espinas anales 1; Radios blandos anales: 13. Characterized by pale greyish to white body with two main rows of reddish spots or rectangular blotches on side, most large spots and blotches surrounded by ring of blue spots; side of snout, cheek, opercle and side of nape with short blu and yellow bands; dorsal rays VI+I,13; anal rays I,13; pectoral rays 18; pelvic rays I,5; scales in longitudinal scale series 57-60; circumpeduncular scales 15; head. Nape and prepecctoral area without scales; entirely cycloid scales; elongate body, depth 6.0-6.4 at pelvic fin origin; opening of gill extending forward to about vertical at posterior edge of preopercle; dorsal spines progressively longer to third spine; filamentous third dorsal spine, 2.8-3.4 in SL; ovate caudal fin with rounded margin, 3.1-3.4 in SL; gill rakers 2+9(3-4+8-9) (Ref. 90102).
