Épines dorsales (Total): 15; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 11-12; Épines anales 6-8; Rayons mous anaux: 9 - 10; Vertèbres: 26. Distinguished from other congeners by the combination of the following characters: caudal vertebrae 12; absence of mark on side of head; dorsal-fin spines 15; dorsal-fin rays 11-12; anal-fin rays 9-10; pectoral-fin rays 14-15; 24-25 proximal radials on dorsal-fin base; caudal peduncle length 10.2-11.9% SL: scales in longitudinal row 27-29; wide ectopterygoid; arms of epibranchial 2 with two long tubular processes; arm of epibranchial 1 long; arms of vertical trunk bar 7 with the same width; absence of depression on head; and snout not robust (Ref. 79631).
