Africa: a Lower Guinea endemic, found on Bioko (=Fernando Poo) and Annobon (=Pagalu) islands of Equatorial Guinea, and Sao Tome and Principe islands (Ref. 81660).

Description synthétique Morphologie | Morphométrie

Épines dorsales (Total): 7; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 8; Épines anales 1; Rayons mous anaux: 8. Diagnosis: conspicuous discrete dark spot present on upper pectoral fin base (if specimen is very dark spot may not be highly contrasted but is still distinct; sensory papillae on upper rear field of opercle form a single arching row; 54-63 scales in longitudinal series, usually 56 or more (Ref. 81660).
