Description synthétique Morphologie | Morphométrie

Épines dorsales (Total): 7; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 14-15; Épines anales 2; Rayons mous anaux: 11 - 12; Vertèbres: 26. Color of adults white with a broad brown bar on the head; 3 brownish yellow bars on the body; a large black saddle on the caudal peduncle (lacking in juveniles); and orange-yellow spinous portion on dorsal fin. Young with a large elliptical black spot basally and below posterior half of the soft part of dorsal fin, extending onto anterior part of the caudal peduncle, followed by a bright white spot. Moderately-deep body, 2.1-2.35 in SL. Tubed lateral line scales, 19-21, but usually 20 (Ref. 33558).
