Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt): 30 - 32; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 6-8; Afterflossenstacheln 2; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 22 - 24. Pelvic fin rays thick, finger-like, reaching about halfway to anus (Ref. 9002). Variable from almost black to yellow-brown; adults with silvery-white blotches in series anteriorly on sides (Ref. 9002).
