পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 2; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 9; পায়ূ কাঁটা 1; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 5. Presence of black band and a scarlet stripe from snout to mid-caudal; and an oblique black caudal fin band (Ref. 74592).

Inhabits fast flowing hill streams (Ref. 41236). A herbivorous (Ref. 74596) and a gregarious fish which inhabits rocky pools with thick riparian vegetation (Ref. 74592).
