Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt): 1; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 7; Afterflossenstacheln 0; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 14 - 15. Body dark blue dorsally, silvery white ventrally. Dorsal fin, adipose fin, soft ray of pectoral fin and maxillary barbel dark blue. Posterior margins of caudal and anal fins slightly blackish (Ref. 27363).

Males carry the eggs in their mouth (Ref. 205). Depth range based on occurrence (Ref. 121781); to be replaced with a better reference.
