Peritoneum with row of melanophores
At 14 mm, left eye has started to migrate to right side (Ref. 39467). Metamorphosis complete at about 14 mm when young moves to bottom (Ref. 39017). Postlarval yellowtail has greater number of dorsal and anal fin rays and larger size before completing metamorphosis than postlarval flounder (Ref. 39017, 7135). Pigmentation: significant row of spots develops along body between midline and ventral edge (on myosepta). Sequence of fin formation: caudal (5.0-14.0 mm TL); dorsal (<10.0-14.0 mm); anal (<10.0-14.0 mm).
