At 9 mm, dorsal fin has 8 rays; anal fin has about 15 rays. Pigmentation: 12 black pigment spots on each side of the larva; one black spot in front of the opercular opening, 2 on the posterior side of the pectoral fin, 6 in the foregut region, and 2 in the midgut and one above the anus.
