Upon hatching, larvae adhered permanently to the substrate at the nesting site where they were guarded by the male (Ref. 41595). The bodies of the larvae could be seen waving in the water current with the heads firmly attached to a rock by numerous attachment cells on the dorsal and frontal part of the head and the dorsal half of the eyes (Ref. 41595). Numerous small openings are present in the head area (Ref. 41595). |
