Spawning Cycles: (1/y)   Ref:
Comments: Based on observation, spawning activity began as large aggregations (500 to 1500 individuals) gathered over the shallow open sandy areas of the lagoon slope for two to three days after the new moon. The entire school spawned at once, well after dark, then partially dispersed. Unlike many reef fishes, the group spawned at the beginning of ebb tide so that the incoming tidal current washed the gametes into the lagoon rather than out to sea.
