Comments: Generally spawns in small, gravel-bottomed streams (Ref. 28852, 28865, 28866, 28867, 28868), but also in the mainstream of small drainages (Ref. 28869). Fecundity varies with the size of the individual and with locality. Egg numbers up to 6,500 have been reported from Wyoming, but Alaskan fish average less than 1,000 eggs per female (Ref. 28552, 28869).
