Comments: Swordfish are batch spawners, perhaps spawning as frequently as every few days over several months. Eggs are spawned in the upper layers of the ocean and, like the protracted larval phase, are pelagic. Depending on swordfish size, egg production is estimated to range from 1 to 29 million (68 – 272 kg females respectively).
