Definition of Term

reef area
(English) The reef portion of the coast beyond the lower limit of the shore area to a maximum depth of 200 m; can be fringing reef area, lagoon fringing reef area, barrier reef area or perimeter reef area. (See also: shore area, reef, fringing reef area)
