Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 5 - 19
Distribution:  Asia: Malay Peninsula, Thailand and Indonesia (Sumatra and Borneo).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in swamps and streams, usually among dense vegetation (Ref. 56749). Found in lowland swamps with acidic water (Ref. 57235). An air-breathing species (Ref. 118402). Aquarium keeping: minimum aquarium size 120 cm (Ref. 51539).

Country info:  Known from Bangkok and Prachuap Khiri Khan (Ref. 37773). Inhabits lowland swamps with acidic water (Ref. 57235). Reared in captivity for the ornamental fish trade (Ref. 6459). Also Ref. 1739, 2091.
